Our club enjoys a rich history and association with the ski area currently known as Showdown. In 1936 a few early skiers pioneered up Kings Hill Pass and established a small ski area on Porphyry Peak (now the top of Showdown), an effort that resulted in the King’s Hill Pass Ski Area. From that point on the pioneers established the GFSBC and took ownership of the ski area. George Willett purchased the ski area from the club in 1973 and renamed it Showdown Ski Area.
You can join at any time during the year but we encourage people to join in September (our first general membership meeting of the year). You should join by the December meeting in order to maximize the clubs benefits.

I have been a member of the GF Ski Club for many years. I purchased tons of equipment for my kids at the ski swap, have attended the winter Snow Ball and never miss the Mannequin Jump at Showdown. They even do float trips in the summer. It’s a fun group to be a part of.
